Govt hands over brand new ambulance to National Fire Authority in Savusavu

People of Savusavu can look forward to the services of a brand new ambulance following the official handover of an Ambulance to the National Fire Authority.

This new ambulance was handed over today by Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister & Sugar Industry, Yogesh Karan.

Karan says NFA plays a significant role in our country’s fire and emergency management services delivery to the various communities around the country.

He says that from 2015 to May of this year, statistics have revealed that NFA has attended to 10,799 ambulance calls which average 2,694 calls per year.

Karan says the Government continues to assist the ambulance service around the country with an operating grant of $1.6 million.

NFA now has a total of 9 ambulances around the country.

It was highlighted that people will need to pay $6.73 as loading fees plus $0.42 per kilometer for the services of ambulances around the country.
