Fiji Airways’ First Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft ‘Island of Kadavu’ will be making its first commercial flight to Adelaide in the next few weeks.
It will be followed by flights to Brisbane, a first flight to New Zealand flying to Wellington, followed by Sydney.
The Chairman of the Fiji Airways Board Rajesh Punja revealed this at the arrival of the MAX 8 Aircraft in Nadi today.
Punja adds that they had ordered five B737 MAX 8s and once all five enter into service, Fiji Airways will have one of the youngest fleets in the world.
He says they are receiving their very first Boeing 737 MAX-8, a process that has taken 2 years.
He says it is no simple decision, and the CEO of Fiji Airways along with the management team have been through countless hours mulling over the smallest of details to deliver the best deal for Fiji Airways.
Punja adds that milestones such as these are only possible because they have the support of the Fijian Government.
Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum officially welcomed the new plane at Nadi International Airport earlier this afternoon.
