Fiji’s football icon Roy Krishna says the Bula FC players know they will only receive support if they perform well, and they are going to try their best to do everything on the field to make supporters proud.

While speaking with fijivillage News after signing a six-month contract with Bula FC, Krishna says he struggled to secure a professional contract and that it took him some time to join his first professional club at the age of 26.

Krishna says Bula FC provides a strong pathway for young local players, offering those who perform well at school, district or youth level a clear opportunity to pursue professional football.

He further says his full focus is on Bula FC, with the aim of taking the team all the way and winning the cup.

The former All Saints High School student who has over 60 caps for the national team says he is using the experience he gained overseas to guide future stars on what needs to be done and how to look after themselves.

He also says the choice to join Bula FC was easy because he will get to spend more time with his family.

The 38-year-old says he has not spent much time with his daughter and now with this opportunity, he is now enjoying that time.

Bula FC will take on Vanuatu United FC on 17 January at 2pm at Eden Park in Auckland in the inaugural match of the OFC Pro League.
