Host Rewa secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Labasa in the first leg of the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion match at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori this afternoon.
The visitors took the lead early, with Mosese Nabose finding the back of the net in the 5th minute.
Rewa maintained their advantage going into halftime, leading 1–0.
Despite Labasa’s efforts to find an equaliser in the second half, Rewa defended well.
More than 3,000 fans turned up to witness the clash.
The second leg of the CVC will be played on Saturday at Subrail Park in Labasa.
