The hosts twice came from behind to level the match.
Dominik Szoboszlai could have been the saviour for Liverpool after he scored in the 80th minute to restore their 3-2 lead.
Both teams were goalless at halftime.
Later in the match, Anton Stach brought Leeds level at 2-2 in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa stunned Arsenal 2-1 to move three points behind the Premier League leaders.
In other results, Manchester City thrashed Sunderland 3-0, Totteham beat Brentford 2-0, Everton defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0, while Chelsea and Bournemouth played out a 0-0 draw.
Arsenal is leading the table with 33 points, followed by Manchester City on 31, Villa is third with 30 points, while Chelsea is fourth with 25 points.
Liverpool has dropped to 8th position with 23 points.
