Former FIJI Water Flying Fijian Koli Sewabu has been appointed as the new Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer.
The announcement was made today by the FRU Chairman John Sanday, who says Sewabu's leadership as Acting FRU CEO over the last six months has been exemplary.
Sanday says during this period, he has provided stable and effective leadership, ensuring continuity of operations while guiding the organisation through a critical phase of transition.
He adds in appointing a permanent chief executive officer, the board was committed to ensuring that the process was professional, independent, and impartial.
The FRU Chair says to achieve this, the board engaged a well-known and respected firm, Maximise Limited, to manage the entire recruitment process.
He says this decision was taken to ensure the integrity and independence of the process and to provide confidence to their stakeholders that the appointment was made purely on merit.
He says the position attracted strong interest with 12 applicants putting their names forward.
He adds that from this pool, five candidates were shortlisted after a rigorous assessment process, and from that five, they interviewed four.
