Bula FC has signed 19-year-old New Zealand goalkeeper Matthew Foord
Bula FC has signed 19-year-old New Zealand goalkeeper Matthew Foord, adding one of the country’s most promising young talents to their squad ahead of the new season.

Bula FC says Foord has been part of clubs including Waimak United, Christchurch United, Cashmere Technical, and most recently the Wellington Phoenix Reserves.

Foord has also represented New Zealand at the OFC U17 Qualifiers in 2023, where he played a crucial role in the team’s championship run.

He went on to feature at the FIFA U17 World Cup, and later gained experience at the U20 Invitational Cup, further cementing his reputation as one of New Zealand’s brightest young goalkeeping prospects.

Foord shares his excitement, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to sign a professional contract with Bula FC.

He adds that the group has been very welcoming and he is looking forward to the season.

He also says that the decision to move overseas felt right from the moment the opportunity arose.

Bula FC will take on Vanuatu United FC in OFC Professional League's first match on the 17th of January at Eden Park.
