The sold-out sign has gone up at Suncorp Stadium, with a bumper crowd expected ahead of the first Test between the British & Irish Lions and Wallabies in Brisbane.

The 52,500 capacity stadium is set to be filled as fans fill the city in anticipation of the opener on Saturday, delighting Wallabies captain Harry Wilson.

Wilson told reporters that it is one of the best stadiums in the world and to see it sold out is super exciting.

He says everyone has been so excited for this event for quite a while and now that it's here, it's going to be awesome.

'Lions Mania' has been felt in Brisbane, with a plethora of Lions jerseys filling the CBD as a large majority of the 40,000 travelling fans descend on Queensland.

A fan zone has opened at King George Square, where both the Wallabies and Lions players are meeting fans and signing autographs in the build-up.

It's the epicentre of a week-long celebration of the Lions, with lunches with Lions and Wallabies legends held across the local Rugby clubs, with a darts event with Matt Giteau, Justin Harrison and Simon Shaw closing out the festivities on Sunday.

The focus for the Wallabies remains on the 80 minutes on Saturday, heading in as underdogs against a Lions side unbeaten on Australian soil in 2025.

The Wallabies play the Lions at 10.05pm tomorrow.
