The first‑year test head coach arrived in Christchurch today insisting South Africa’s task of beating the All Blacks this Saturday was not a potential plane crash in the making.
Meanwhile former South African coach Nick Mallett has accused this year’s team as strictly B division however Coetzee and experienced backrower Warren Whiteley are not throwing in the towel before Saturday’s test.
Coetzee says they are going out onto the field not just to compete but to play a hard test.
South Africa play the All Blacks at 7.35pm this Saturday while Australia will play Argentina at 10.05pm.
