The Yasawa Women's Rugby team is confident that they can put on a strong performance against defending champions Namosi in tomorrow's Pio Bosco Trophy Challenge, despite expecting fewer supporters at the Uprising Sports Centre at Pacific Harbour.
Coach Tuliana Ragadi, who hails from Namara Village in Yasawa, says her team has prepared well throughout the week and is ready for the challenge.
She says Yasawa have great respect for Namosi, but believes her players have what it takes to deliver a strong performance.
Ragadi says playing in championship matches is nothing new for Yasawa, and she trusts her players to rise to the occasion.
She acknowledges that Namosi are likely to have more supporters at the venue but says this will not discourage her team.
The Yasawa coach says her players are focused on giving their best throughout the full 80 minutes, and understand the importance of remaining united and not underestimating their opponents.
Ragadi says the team are determined to bring the Pio Bosco Trophy home, while Namosi will be looking to retain the title.
Meanwhile, Ragadi is calling on the Yasawa families living in Suva and the Western Division, particularly those near Uprising, to come out and support the team.
She says having families and supporters cheering from the sidelines will give the players extra strength and motivation to perform well.
Yasawa will face Namosi at 3pm tomorrow at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour.
