Mapusua Seilala Mapusua is the new Manu Samoa head coach while Muliagatele Brian Lima will take charge of the Samoan Men's National 7s team.

The former Manu Samoa teammates have both signed two year deals after their appointments were endorsed and ratified by the Samoa Rugby Union Board last night.

Mapusua played 33 tests for Samoa and the Pacific Islanders between 2004 and 2013, including the famous Manu Samoa win over Australia in 2011.

The 40-year-old says that he is honoured and humbled to be a member of Manu Samoa again and is excited in growing and developing rugby in Samoa starting from the grassroots.

Meanwhile Manu Samoa legend Muliagatele Brian Lima succeeds Sir Gordon Tietjens as coach of the men's sevens team.

Lima is the most capped player in Manu Samoan history with 65 and was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2011.

Lima is the former Samoa A head coach and was recently in charge of the Manumā Samoa team in the Rapid Rugby competition, and was an assistant coach under Damian McGrath in 2016 when Samoa last won a tournament on the World Sevens Series.

He says that he cannot wait to come on board and work closely with the CEO and the General Manager in making sure they can revive their 7s program.
