QVS and Tailevu North lead medal tallies

Queen Victoria School, Ratu Kadavulevu School and Dawasamu Secondary School dominated the 800 metres finals at the Tailevu Zone Athletics Meet today at the HFC Bank Stadium.

In the sub-junior girls 800m, Masilini Navakacelo from Dawasamu won gold, Nanise Donumaitoga also from Dawasamu came second and Alumita Marama from Tailevu North College finished third.

In the sub-junior boys, Marika Kelekelevesi from RKS came first, Matayasi Ketewai from QVS took second and Mitieli Batisarisari from QVS came third.

In the junior girls, Viniana Likurua from Wainibuka Secondary won gold, Esita Asilika from Saint Vincent College came second and Melaia Koroituibuna from Wainibuka Secondary finished third.

For the junior boys 800m, QVS scooped all three, Soropepeli Nakasava came first, Jeremaih Koroijuta took second and Asivorosi Biri finished third.

In the inter girls, Ralusiana Valau from Tailevu North College won gold, Verenaisi Cagilaba from Tailevu North College secured the silver and Merieni Wakanikoba from Wainibuka Secondary scooped the bronze.

The inter boys 800m was led by Jale Raikatalau from RKS, with Amani Ravula from RKS in second place and Josua Koroi from QVS in third.

In the Senior Girls race, Kelera Seru from Dawasamu Secondary came first, Adimere Radinibeqa from Dawasamu took second while Dawasamu Secondary secured third place as well.

The senior boys was another strong event for QVS with George O’Connor winning gold, Andrew Lal took silver, and Manueli Tuikuku from Tailevu North College finished third.

QVS is currently leading the boys’ division with 18 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze, RKS is second with 13 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze while Tailevu North College is third with 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze.

In the girls’ division, Tailevu North leads with 13 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze, Wainibuka Secondary is second with 7 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze, while Dawasamu Secondary is third with 6 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze.
