As less than 24 hours remain for the Courts IDC to start in Suva, a number of player transfer disputes are still being sorted out.
We have received information that teams will be told by the Fiji Football Association before their matches tomorrow if they can field players whose transfer application is in dispute.
When asked if this late drama could be avoided, Fiji FA’s CEO Bob Kumar says the districts are to be blamed as the transfer window period opened on 1st September and closed on the 30th however most teams opted to sign new players just a few days before the close of the transfer window period.
Fiji FA’s new soccer season starts with the Courts IDC.
Some players who are making a switch to other districts include Taione Kerevanua, Rusiate Matarerega, Lekima Gonerau, Jone Kaloutani, Antonio Tuivuna, Ravinesh Karan Singh, Jonetani Buksh and Paulo Buke.
Kumar says they have worked on most disputes and they are confident things will be sorted out before the first match tomorrow.
The 2016 Courts IDC will start on Wednesday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary of the Nadroga vs Lautoka, Ba vs Rewa and Suva vs Labasa matches on Radio Sargam on 103.4FM.
