Fiji Kulas star Cema Nasau has credited their 3-2 win over the Solomon Islands to the hard work and determination of her teammates in their first pool match of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup that was held in Suva over the weekend.

Nasau was named Player of the Match following her outstanding performance in the win by scoring two goals.

The 26-year-old midfielder expressed her gratitude after the match, saying she was thankful to the Almighty for guiding her and her team throughout the game.

Fiji trailed 2-1 at half-time, but Nasau praised her side’s resilience and fighting spirit, saying the team gave their best despite the early setback.

She says they came back strong in the second half and managed to secure the win.

Nasau says they now turn their focus to the next match against Tonga.

The Kulas will take on Tonga in their second pool game tomorrow at 7pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.

They will then take on Vanuatu on Friday at 7pm, also at the HFC Bank Stadium.
