This year’s Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball National Championship will see tougher competition compared to other years, especially with the inclusion of new teams who will be unpredictable and will also be providing challenges for the top schools.

Basketball Fiji Chief Operations Officer Laisiasa Puamau says it is really hard to identify which schools will be a top favourite this year but it will be much more exciting when it comes to the knockout stages.

Puamau says it is also great to see teams like Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School taking part this year as they are rugby-dominated schools.

He says Marist Brothers High School, Suva Grammar School and Latter Day Saints are fielding strong teams this year but that does not take away the fact that other schools are coming in strong and well-prepared for this competition.
