The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that John McKee will coach the Flying Fijians through to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
FRU Chairman Francis Kean says after lengthy consideration the FRU board believed that the extension of McKee’s contract with the FRU was in the best interest of Fiji to ensure continuity and build confidence in the Flying Fijians continued improved performance.
And Coach John McKee says he is excited about the opportunity and glad that this is now out of the way.
He says coaching the Flying Fijians is special.
McKee says his primary focus now is preparing Fiji to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.
Part of his immediate focus will be the Pacific Nations Cup where the Vodafone Flying Fijians will meet Tonga at 2pm next Saturday.
Tonga and Samoa will kick off the Pacific Nations Cup at 2pm tomorrow.
