The Marist Brothers High School Under 18 team will be going in as underdogs when they take on Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Coke Zero Deans quarterfinal at the ANZ Stadium this Saturday.
Marist has been reaching the Deans final two years in a row and has lost out to RKS and Queen Victoria School in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
In 2015 Marist lost to RKS in a pulsating final in front of a packed crowd at the ANZ Stadium as the Lodoni brigade edged the boys from Flagstaff 8-5.
Last year Marist took Queen Victoria School down to full-time with a 18-all draw before QVS halfback Peniasi Ratu kicked their winning penalty.
Marist has won the Deans Trophy on four occasions and drawn twice. They first won in 1965.
They will take on RKS at 3pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
In the other U18 quarterfinals, Saint John’s College will take on Nasinu Secondary School at 10.50am, Suva Grammar School will take on Cuvu College at 12.20pm while Ratu Navula College will face defending champion Queen Victoria School at 5pm.
