The Hurricanes are bracing for some honest debrief sessions after their five-tries-to-one loss to the Crusaders on Sunday.

The 39-25 defeat in Wellington means the Hurricanes have opened their Super Rugby Aotearoa campaign with back-to-back losses after coming short against the Blues in Auckland in the opening round.

Hurricanes first-five Jackson Garden-Bachop says the team will need to take a look in the mirror to bounce back.

Garden-Bachop says the Crusaders fed off from their mistakes and three or four of their tries came off from their poor execution and mistakes.

The two defeats see the Hurricanes sitting at the bottom of the Super Rugby Aotearoa standings without a point to their name.

They have a bye this weekend to get their competition back on track before travelling to Hamilton in round four to face the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, in Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday while the Crusaders will face the Chiefs at 3.35pm Sunday.
