Grammar girls U19 mean business at the Secondary Schools Basketball Championship

The Suva Grammar School girls under 19 basketball side are showing they mean business coming into the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball National Championship after securing a comfortable 27-9 win over International School Suva in their first pool match today at the Lautoka Multipurpose Court.

The defending champions in the girls' division showed class and set the benchmark on the first day of the competition.

The win will give them more confidence heading into the remainder of their pool matches and hopefully all the way to defend their title.

Meanwhile, in other results, in the under-19 girls' division, Adi Cakobau School defeated Saint Joseph’s Secondary School 25-10 and Latter Day Saints defeated Fiji Agape Mission School 18-8.

In the under 19 boys division, Latter Day Saints beat Tilak High School 19-10, Yat Sen Secondary School demolished Marist Brothers High School 1 44-2, Suva Grammar School defeated Lautoka Muslim College 36-10, Fiji Agape Mission School lost to John Wesley College 29-12, Marist 1 defeated Queen Victoria School 25-13, Latter Day Saints beat Ratu Kadavulevu School 17-6 and Swami Vivekananda College thumped Tilak High School 38-5.

In the U17 girls division, LDS thumped Central College 22-0, Gospel High School defeated Natabua High School 23-5 and Saint Joseph’s Secondary School Blue defeated Tilak 24-15.

In the U17 boys division, International School Suva overcame Natabua High School 28-21, Suva Grammar edged Swami Vivekananda College 10-8, Latter Day Saints beat International School Nadi 25-15, Marist (1) defeated Fiji Agape Mission School 36-17 and Central College Lautoka edged Marist (2) 7-6, Suva Grammar defeated Central College Lautoka 14-6 and International School Suva defeated QVS 17-4.

In the U15 girls division, Yat Sen defeated Central College 26-5, Suva Grammar edged International School Suva 13-10 and Votualevu College defeated SJSS 9-5.

In the U15 boys division, International Secondary School beat Sacred Heart College 21-11, Marist (2) defeated Central College 2-0, Yat Sen thrashed Fiji Agape Mission School 40-3 and Suva Grammar thumped International School Nadi 31-2.
