The Fiji Football Association has confirmed Extra Supermarket as the official major sponsor of the 2025 Battle of the Giants football tournament.

The group stages of the much-anticipated tournament will take place from next Friday to Sunday at Subrail Park in Labasa, marking the BOG’s return to the northern town after more than ten years.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel says the support from Extra comes at a pivotal time and will help ensure the tournament is not just a competitive football event but also a celebration for fans and families in Labasa.

He says Extra's commitment is not only to the BOG but to the growth of Fijian football overall, as they are also the major sponsors of the Extra Premier League, Extra Senior League, Extra U19 and U16 Youth Leagues, Extra Futsal League, Extra Futsal IDC, and the Extra Futsal National Team.

Patel also acknowledged the valuable contributions of past sponsors who have helped grow the game across the country.

The official launch and pool draws for the 2025 Extra Supermarket BOG will be held on Wednesday.

Extra Supermarket Chief Marketing Officer, Lailanie Burnes, says they are proud to support a tournament that’s returning to a town they call home, with one of their premier stores serving the local community.

Burnes says it’s not just about sponsoring football, but about celebrating with fans and families off the field too.

She says attendees can look forward to a fun-filled weekend with various activities, giveaways and interactive experiences.

Burnes also noted their broader support in other sports, including being major sponsors of the Fiji Darts Association, Team Fiji at the 4th South Pacific Darts Championship, the 2025 Fiji National Singles Darts Championship, the 118th Extra Fiji Open Tennis Tournament, and Fiji Golf.

She says the company is proud to stand behind Fijian athletes, coaches and fans from grassroots to national level, promoting health, unity, and national pride through sport.
