Former England international Nick Easter has slammed World Rugby's new measures to protect players from head injuries.
The new rugby tackle laws will be introduced throughout the game for reckless and accidental contact with the head, measures that will effectively lower the acceptable height of the tackle.
Easter has said on twitter that "it's goodbye to the game as we know it. Enter play acting/diving to punish tacklers."
Under new laws, if a player makes a tackle where they knew there would be risk to an opponent’s head, the minimum punishment will be a yellow card.
If a player makes accidental contact with an opponent’s head, even in a slipping tackle, the team will be penalised.
It effectively lowers the height of an acceptable tackle.
Sky Sports commentator Stuart Barnes says the game and its players have become faster and stronger in recent years and the rules haven't reflected that.
