Fijian Drua to perform “Na Bole” in all home matches

Team is in good shape – Thorburn

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will be performing the “Na Bole” in all their home matches in the Super Rugby Pacific competition

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will be performing the “Na Bole” in all their home matches in the Super Rugby Pacific including their inaugural match against the Waratahs tonight.

“Na Bole” is a traditional Fijian dance presented by warriors heading to war.

Fijian Drua CEO Brian Thorburn revealed the “Na Bole” was created by the team to energise and remind themselves of the task at hand.

He says when the team requested to bring back the “Na Bole” for their inaugural Super Rugby Pacific campaign, they immediately worked to get approval from Rugby Australia and New Zealand Rugby.

Meanwhile, the team had a private jersey presentation function last night where the players also performed the “Na Bole” for a handful of guests, which included Thorburn, Head Coach Mick Byrne and Fiji Rugby CEO John O’Connor.

Thorburn says that they have had a few injuries but the team is in good shape.

He says they are very excited and is also expecting a huge crowd turnout.

The Drua will play the Waratahs at 8:45 tonight in Sydney.

In other Super Rugby matches, the Chiefs will take on the Highlanders at 3.35 pm tomorrow, the Crusaders will play the Hurricanes at 6.05 pm, the Reds will face the Rebels at 8.45 pm tomorrow and the Brumbies meet the Western Force at 3 pm Sunday.
