The Fiji Airways Drua first National Rugby Championship season has been a revelation but their discipline has been their biggest problem.
The NRC level of competition is a step closer to Super Rugby and Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula believes the intensity of the competition is good for Fiji Rugby but the discipline will need to be addressed from grassroots level such as the local club games, Skipper Cup and Farebrother challenge.
He adds that the local referees will need to step up as they play a very important role in players performance and the habit they develop before making it to high-level competition.
The Drua was exposed in so many areas of ill-discipline which includes eye-gouging, biting, eight yellow cards and conceded 104 penalties.
Fijivillage asked Seruvakula on his opinion as they look for solutions.
He believes that the referees could play a vital role in improving their performance and other local players.
Seruvakula adds that they have been working with the Australian referees as well.
The Drua will be naming their 23 member travelling squad today.
They will take on Queensland Country at 5pm Sunday in the NRC semifinal.
