It is set to snow in Christchurch on the eve of Saturday's Super Rugby semifinal between the Crusaders and the Chiefs.
According to Weatherwatch.com, snow flurries are expected tomorrow and on Friday in Christchurch, possibly at as low as 100m sea level a day before the highly anticipated clash.
Last week the Highlanders arrived in Christchurch just seven hours before the start of their quarter‑final defeat to the Crusaders due to heavy rain in Dunedin.
The Crusaders certainly have history on their side with an impressive 11 semifinal victories, the most of any Super Rugby franchise.
Even more remarkable is that nine of those knockout victories took place on home soil with the Crusaders unbeaten in the semifinal stage in Christchurch.
The Crusaders will host the Chiefs at 7.35pm Saturday while the Lions will host the Hurricanes at 12.30am Sunday.
