Card count proves All Blacks aren't treated differently - Foster

All Blacks assistant coach, Ian Foster has stepped into the latest card ‑ or non‑card ‑ debate, claiming that New Zealand's number of carded offences last year prove the side is not receiving preferential treatment by referees.

The All Blacks finished 2017 with one red and eight yellow cards which was one of the highest totals in international rugby.

Foster says they are like other teams, they do not like going down to 14 men and their players are like others, sometimes bad technique takes over.

This comes after France wing Remy Grosso suffered a reported double fracture to his cheekbone after a second half collision with All Blacks flanker Sam Cane and replacement prop Ofa Tu'unagafasi.

The French coach Jacques Brune described this as "dangerous" and "illegal".

Cane was penalised for the incident, but not yellow carded.

All Blacks beat France in their first Test at Eden Park 52‑11 after trailing 11‑8 at half‑time.

On Saturday, the All Blacks play France in their second Test in Wellington at 7.35pm, Japan take on Italy at 8pm, while Australia face Ireland at 10pm.

On Sunday, South Africa will face England at 3.05am, Argentina will play Wales at 7.40am, Canada will take on Russia at 8am while USA will face Scotland at 1pm
