Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s playmaker, Napolioni Bolaca has won the HSBC 7s Series Cigna Pressure Play Award which looks at the moment a player or a team has applied pressure on the opposition to score a try, based on the number of passes, defenders beaten and offloads.

Bolaca was nominated for his Cup Final try against South Africa during the Sydney 7s.

The 23-year-old was also named in the Men’s HSBC Dream Team alongside Fiji 7s teammate Aminiasi Tuimaba and Fiji-born France player Tavite Veredamu.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s team won the HSBC 7s Series Capgemini Momentum Tracker which goes to the team that recorded the highest momentum score on the tracker as a result of quantified performance and evolution scores.

World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont congratulated all the 24 women’s and men’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2020 award winners.

He says although the series this year was forced to conclude early there was no shortage of speed, skill and spectacular tries on display from players and teams, combined with unpredictable and awe-inspiring moments that embody the values of the game and remind us that rugby sevens is a truly unique and thrilling sport that will once again showcase itself to the worldwide audience at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.
