The All Blacks defeated England 16-15 in a thriller match in Dunedin last night.

This is also the first match coached by former Crusaders coach Scott Robertson after seven years of dominance in Super Rugby.

Fiji-born All Blacks winger Sevu Reece and captain Ardie Savea scored a try each, while fly-half Damien McKenzie slotted in two penalties.

Roberston says it was not Super Rugby after having successive wins and steered the Crusaders to seven consecutive titles before taking charge of the All Blacks.

He says the boys are pleased, and this is the reality of test footy, which was a good experience for them.

According to Robertson, it is those air battles, and all the small margins and every point counts, and every opportunity counts.

Robertson says nothing would come easy against opponents who had been together for three weeks and were playing their seventh test this year.

He adds he is pleased with the mental strength of the team.
