Footage has emerged of a Melbourne Rebels supporter being escorted out of the stands after reportedly racially abusing Swire Shipping Fijian Drua halfback Frank Lomani after he was red carded in the Drua’s 41-20 loss to the Rebels on Friday night.

In the video circulated on social media, a man in a Rebels jersey is seen arguing with surrounding fans after reportedly hurling racial slurs at Lomani.

Fans have reported that the man shouted racial slurs at Lomani, and when Lomani reacted, the man added his comment: “You want to break a chair that you can’t pay for?”

Neisau Tuidraki was a supporter who witnessed what unfolded and the following snippets were taken from her thread on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

Neisau tweeted that it was disgusting that a group of Rebel supporters threw racial slurs at Frank Lomani that night.

She also says the AAMI security was hopeless, the Drua supporters asked security to eject them all but were blown at the reaction of those supporters who thought they could swear like that at Lomani with Drua supporters to the front, back, left and right and get away with it.

She further says that the Rebels supporters around them were embarrassed and it put a sour taste to the end of the night.

fijivillage has sent questions to the management of the Drua team, but they have not responded yet.
