Ra High School will head into this week’s National Vodafone Super Deans Competition clash with plenty of confidence after producing one of the biggest statements of last week’s quarter-finals.
The Ra boys stunned former Super Deans champions Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS), sending a clear message that they are not in the competition just to make up the numbers.
One player who caught the eye in that impressive victory was inside centre Jack Wakili, who crossed the try line twice against RKS.
Wakili, who hails from Maniava Takaimalo in Ra, has impressive speed and attacking instincts, along with a sneaky sidestep.
He will form a formidable midfield combination with Joseva Boto from Bua at outside centre, giving Ra High a dangerous one-two punch in the backs.
The pair will be expected to test the Lions’ defensive line with their strength, speed and ability to create opportunities in broken play.
Ra High School will play Suva Grammar School at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The time for the match has not been confirmed yet.
