Aston Villa have taken 2-0 lead in the Europa League final against Freiburg after midfielder Youri Tielemans and Emiliano Buendía scored.

Aston Villa are chasing their first major trophy in 30 years and have started strongly despite an early setback.

Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez suffered injury to his finger while attempting a save in the opening stages of the match, but continued playing after receiving medical attention.

Freiburg have also looked dangerous on the counterattack as both teams search for the breakthrough in what has been a fast-paced contest so far.

Among the thousands of Villa supporters in Istanbul is Prince William, who travelled to Turkey to back his favourite club in one of the biggest matches in the team’s recent history.
