Blues assistant coach Tom Coventry has added his voice to the chorus out of New Zealand's Super Rugby franchises calling for a loosening in the rules around All Blacks' load management.

Coventry, as sensible a bloke as there is coaching in the New Zealand game, made a reasoned and thoughtful plea for some common-sense around the contentious restrictions that are placed on internationals in the Kiwi game.

The Blues forwards coach has plenty of sympathy for the All Blacks setup and the intention behind their blanket restrictions currently embedded. But he believes players should be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and the franchises given a much firmer say in how they're managed during the Super Rugby season.

The Blues will take on the Crusaders at 6.05pm tomorrow, the Rebels will face the Waratahs at 8.15pm tomorrow, the Sunwolves will play the Chiefs at 3.45pm Saturday, the Hurricanes will take on the Sharks at 6.05pm Saturday, the Brumbies will face the Highlanders at 8.15pm Saturday, the Lions will play the Stormers at 1.05am Sunday and the Reds will take the Jaguares at 9.40am Sunday.
