Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 20.53 seconds and broke his own record of 21.18 seconds.

Nelson Stone of PNG who finished second tried hard to match Tabakaucoro but the former Marist Brothers High School student was just too good and gave his best performance.

The Olympic Games entry standard for 200m event is 20.50 seconds.

In the womens Triple Jump event, Fiji’s Milika Tuivanuavou had to settle for silver as PNG won gold.
