Richie McCaw and Steven Hansen were notable absentees in the long list of people Sonny Bill Williams has thanked in a heartfelt farewell message posted on social media.
Williams who has signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Wolfpack which is reported to be worth $10 million posted a video message to his Twitter followers on Friday.
Williams has played with McCaw in two World Cup winning tournaments while Steve Hansen was the coach in the 2015 tournament.
Among those mentioned were former Crusaders and All Blacks teammate Israel Dagg, former Chiefs coach Dave Rennie and New Zealand Rugby Chairman Brent Impey.
Williams says that his time in New Zealand has come to an end but he thinks it's only right that he sends a message of gratitude to those that have helped him along the journey.
