Team Fiji Tennis had a rocky start to their men’s and women's singles competitions at Korman Tennis Centre during the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu yesterday.

In the men's singles, Fiji's Conway Beg went down two sets to one against Samoa while William O'Connell won two straight sets against Samoa.

In the women's singles, Vienna Kumar lost her game with two straight sets against the Solomon Islands while Ruby Coffin did not manage to finish her game due to bad weather.

Coach Robert Krause was pleased with the first day of competitions for his athletes and said the score did not reflect the game itself.

The Men's and Women's doubles will start today.
