Six years waiting in vain for a win has been painful for the Rewa soccer team, and they are now keeping their fingers crossed that this year's Courts Homcentres IDC title will belong to them.

They last won the IDC in 2001 at the National Stadium and they last won at Ba's Govind Park was in 1955.

Rewa Soccer Coach Kamal Swamy said the players are doing well in training and with the inclusion of three overseas based players, his side should do well in next week's last major tournament of the year.

Swamy said New Zealand based Stewart Bola and Waisake Sabutu will join the side by the end of this week while Australian based defender Sameer Ali has already arrived and trained with the side in the weekend.

Rewa is on a bye on the opening day and will meet Nadroga in their opening Pool match on Friday.
