Premier League clubs are not expected to introduce video assistant referees next season, even if football's lawmakers approve them tomorrow.
The International Football Association Board is expected to approve video assistant referees when it meets in Zurich, in time for this summer's World Cup in Russia.
It is currently being used in selected English domestic cup matches.
The system was described as "comical" and "embarrassing" after Tottenham's 6‑1 FA Cup win over Rochdale on Thursday, when a goal was disallowed and a converted penalty overturned.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will take on Huddersfield in the English Premier League at 3am tomorrow.
