Peter Fatialofa passes away

Manu Samoa rugby legend Peter Fatialofa is reported to have died.

The NZ Herald said it is believed he came down with a sudden illness and had to be rushed to hospital.

It’s reported he died on the way.

54-year-old Fatialofa was a well respected son of Samoa, having captained the Manu Samoa rugby team at its first Rugby World Cup tournament in 1991.

He also played for Auckland’s Ponsonby Rugby Club.

He played 72 games for Auckland and was part of their Ranfurly Shield reign from 1985 to 1993.

Fatialofa had been running a successful piano moving business in Auckland for around 20 years.

This morning’s news came as a great shock to many fans of Peter Fats, many taking to Twitter to express their condolences.
