Nacewa to Leave NZ

Nacewa to Leave NZ
Fiji born classy Blues utility back Isa Nacewa is joining the rugby migration from New Zealand to Europe, by signing with Leinster.

Nacewa, 25, will join the Irish club when his contractual obligations end in New Zealand, effective after the present Super 14 campaign with the Blues.

He said the decision to leave Auckland was a difficult one. Nacewa, who has operated at first five-eighth, centre, wing and his present spot of fullback for the Blues, said making the All Blacks remains a goal.

However, the reality was that, with the present rules permitting players to represent only one country, that was not an option right now, so he has to get on with his career.

At the 2003 World Cup, Nacewa, then 21, was called into the Fiji squad and had just a couple of minutes action as substitute. At the time, he didn't know that would bar him from playing for the All Blacks.
