Former Crusaders lock Dominic Bird has declared he is available this weekend to return to the Super Rugby competition for his Chiefs debut against the Brumbies, after recovering from a broken foot.
Bird is eager to get stuck in and help the two time champions remain at the top of the New Zealand conference.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says the key thing is they want to get a lot of physical work into him and they can always manufacture that through training.
The Chiefs play the Brumbies at 8.40pm Saturday.
