Fiji 7s team arrives in Gold Coast for the Commonwealth Games

The Fiji Men’s 7s team has arrived in Gold Coast ahead of their opening match in the Commonwealth Games 7s competition this Saturday.

On arrival yesterday the team spent the afternoon playing touch at Surfers Paradise beach.

Team Trainer Nacanieli Cawanibuka said on Twitter today will be execution training for the players.

He also says all Fijians affected by Cyclone Keni are in their prayers.

Team Fiji has won 1 gold and 1 bronze at the Commonwealth Games so far and they are both from weightlifting.

The Commonwealth Games 7s competition will start this Saturday.

Fiji will play Sri Lanka at 1.21pm Saturday in their first game, they will then meet Uganda at 7.53pm on Saturday in their second pool match before facing Wales at 11.33pm in their last pool game.

There will be no quarterfinals as the top four teams will go straight to the semi-finals at 1.43pm Sunday and the Commonwealth 7s final will kick off at 5.04pm Sunday.
