Melbourne Storm half‑back Cooper Cronk will become the 25th NRL player to hit 300 games when he runs out against Canberra Raiders in the preliminary final on Saturday and he is hoping his next game will be the following week in the grand final.
Only 11 players have reached 300 with one club, but Cronk made it clear his 300th would mean little if his side lost and missed out on the grand final.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy says if someone had said in 2003 or 2004 that Cooper Cronk was going to play 300 games, he probably would not have believed them.
Storm will play the Raiders in the preliminary final at 9.40pm this Saturday while the Cowboys will play Sharks at 9.55pm on Friday.
