Premiership winning fullback Ben Barba has officially parted ways with the Cronulla Sharks after testing positive for an illicit substance just days after the club’s historic grand final victory.
Barba had a year to run on his deal but that was cut short on yesterday with the fullback flying to Thailand to undergo rehabilitation.
The 27-year-old will need to serve a mandatory 12‑match suspension as a result of recording his second strike under the rugby league illicit drug policy.
