The Baby Pearls defeated Trinidad and Tobago 55-28 in their first pool match of the Netball World Youth Championship in Botswana this morning.

Fiji led 34-12 at half time.

In other matches, England beat Wales 69-23, New Zealand beat Northern Ireland 89-22 and Australia defeated Zimbabwe 86-33.

Fiji will take on Wales in their second pool game at 4am tomorrow and our third game will be against Grenada at 5am Tuesday.

Fiji will play their last pool match against England at 1am Wednesday.
