Minister for Defence Pio Tikoduadua has paid tribute to former Minister for Employment, the late Agni Deo Singh, describing him as a colleague and friend committed to public service, fairness and improving the lives of ordinary Fijians.
Tikoduadua says he remains deeply shocked and saddened by Singh’s untimely passing.
He says he and Singh served together as colleagues in Parliament and Cabinet and shared a common passion and commitment to public service.
He describes Singh as a man of firm conviction, a lifelong advocate for workers and a colleague who always spoke his mind.
Tikoduadua says Singh’s contribution to Fiji, Parliament, Government and the trade union movement will be remembered long after his farewell.
He says it is difficult to accept that Singh is no longer with them and that he will remember him with great affection and respect.
Tikoduadua says he will deeply miss Singh’s friendship and presence.
He has also extended his deepest condolences and prayers to Singh’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved him.
The late Minister passed away in Brisbane following an illness.
Members of the public wishing to pay their final respects may attend the funeral service at Rishikul Sanatan College from 9am to 12pm today.
Singh will be cremated at Raralevu Cemetery in Nausori today.
