The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has filed an application seeking to have more than $404,000, a house and land in Valelevu, and four vehicles belonging to Imran Khan and Deborah Kim forfeited to the State as unexplained wealth.
Imran Khan, also known as King Khan, has been sentenced to 4 years and 3 months imprisonment for unlawful possession of 4.1364 grams of methamphetamine.
The ODPP says the civil forfeiture application was filed in the Suva High Court Civil Registry today.
Earlier this year, the Suva High Court granted the State’s application for a permanent restraining order over the assets of Khan and Kim.
The Court declared the assets as unexplained wealth and ordered that they be permanently restrained after finding that the respondents had failed to provide evidence showing that the properties were acquired through lawful means.
The assets subject to the civil forfeiture application include $404,840.34 held in a bank account.
It also includes a three-bedroom concrete house and land at Lot 21 on DP 5225, Valelevu Housing Authority SubLease No. 204059.
Four vehicles are also covered by the application — a BMW sedan with registration FH 945, a Toyota wagon with registration KNGKHN, a Nissan sedan with registration 913, and a Toyota sedan with registration IV 991.
