Liverpool have booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals after beating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties following a 1-all draw at Anfield.

Chelsea took the lead through Morgan Rogers from the penalty spot in the 40th minute, but Liverpool responded just three minutes later when Cody Gakpo converted a penalty to level the score.

Neither side could find a winner in normal time, sending the match straight to a penalty shootout where Liverpool emerged as the winner.

The result marks Liverpool's fifth consecutive penalty shootout win over Chelsea.

Liverpool will now host Bournemouth in the quarter-finals on 16th December after Bournemouth defeated Aston Villa 3-nil.

Manchester City will face Bradford City after beating Brighton 4-3 on penalties following a 2-all draw, while Crystal Palace will take on Sunderland after defeating Fulham 1-nil.

Sunderland booked their place in the last eight with a 3-2 victory over Brentford.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood Town booked their place in the last eight yesterday after producing a major upset by beating Arsenal 5-3 on penalties following a 1-all draw, and will face the winner of tomorrow's clash between Everton and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
