Extra Bula FC has confirmed eight more players for the 2027 OFC Professional League season, bringing its squad to 17 as the club prepares for its second season of professional football, with negotiations ongoing with national team captain Roy Krishna.
The latest additions include Brazilian Willian Medina, Ivory Coast's Souleymane Koné, New Caledonia's Josué Welepane, Morgan Mathelon and Pierre Lékawé, Australian-based Fijian Jerome Narayan, Canadian-based Fijian Abdullah Khairati and returning player Nabil Begg.
The announcement follows the earlier confirmation of nine players, including returning Fiji internationals Scott Wara, Semi Nabenu, Ibraheem Afazal, Thomas Dunn, Sterling Vasconcellos and Ryan Naresh.
USA international Kaïlé Auvray has also re-signed for another season, while Michael Boffey and Jack de Groot have joined as new recruits from New Zealand and Australia.
Boffey and de Groot will occupy the club's two OFC player spots for the upcoming season.
Bula FC says under the OFC Professional League's player eligibility provisions, players from OFC member associations without a professional club participating in the competition can qualify as local players.
They say as New Caledonia does not have a club competing in the league, Welepane, Mathelon and Lékawé qualify as local players.
With 17 players confirmed, Bula FC is working towards its planned 23-player squad, with six more signings to be finalised and further announcements expected in the coming weeks.
The Bula Warriors will begin their 2027 campaign in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, where they take on Tahiti United on the 22nd of January.
They then travel to Australia and New Zealand before returning to Fiji for its circuit in May, with matches scheduled at Govind Park in Ba, before the season concludes with the league finals in Honiara, Solomon Islands, in June.
