Six people were stabbed and 24 people were arrested following Arsenal's Premier League title celebrations in north London.

The Metropolitan Police say most of those injured suffered minor injuries, however a man in his 20s remains in hospital in stable condition after being stabbed on Hornsey Road on Sunday evening.

More than 500 police officers were deployed for the event, which attracted hundreds of thousands of supporters.

Police say one officer suffered a slash wound to the hand while another was hit on the head by objects thrown during the celebrations.

The arrests included 10 people suspected of assaulting police officers, three on suspicion of sexual assault and one on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The London Fire Brigade also rescued 75 fans who became stranded after climbing onto rooftops during the parade.

Police say the stabbings occurred later in the evening and additional stop-and-search powers were introduced overnight.
