Fusi Feaunati has been appointed as the new Head of Women’s Rugby in Fiji and he starts in his role today.
FRU High Performance Manager, Nacanieli Cawanibuka, says the appointment marks an important step in the Union’s commitment to investing in the growth and development of women’s rugby.
Cawanibuka says the appointment reflects FRU's commitment to moving the women's game into its next phase of development.
He says the new coach brings experience across different levels of the women's game, and his role will help piece together and establish a higher performance environment that is distinctly different and professionally driven.
Cawanibuka says their ambition for women's rugby is to become a valuable part of the FRFU competitively, socially and commercially.
He says Fusi's experience includes serving as Women's and Girls Lead with Wellington Rugby Football Union, Leadership and Coaching roles with Wellington Pride, Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles with Hurricanes Poua, Black Ferns Wellington Hub Manager with New Zealand Rugby and performance and development roles with Manawatu Rugby Union.
