The Fiji Police Force's Forensic Sciences Services has received support from the Australian Federal Police through the retrofitting of canopies for four Divisional Crime Scene Investigations fleet vehicles.
The Australian Federal Police funded the retrofitting of the canopies to store and transport forensic equipment, with the intent of enhancing the response of forensic officers to crime scenes.
The four vehicles will be deployed to the Western, Northern and Eastern divisions, while the Southern Division fleet will also cover the Central Division's area of operation.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu acknowledged the Australian Federal Police's unwavering support, adding that the new capabilities also support well with Fiji's recognition as a Regional Centre for Excellence for Forensics under the Australian Federal Police-supported Pacific Policing Initiative.
Tudravu says the returns of the Australian Federal Police's investment should be reflected through improved responses and effective service delivery.
He also extended the organisation's appreciation to Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett for her continued support towards the Fiji Police Force.

Australian Federal Police Liaison Officer Paul Everingham says the donation reflects the shared commitment between the two law enforcement agencies in addressing common challenges and underscores the upward trajectory of the Vuvale partnership between Fiji and Australia.
